The Application Process

We have a unique application and hiring process. Here's what you can expect after you hit submit on your application.

Answer the Questionnaire

If you pass the initial screening questions, you will be automatically sent an additional set of questions to give us a better sense of your experience and qualifications. Pay close attention to the questions and provide as much information as you can.

Complete the FedEx Application

A recruiter will reach out to you if you're a good match, and they will send you an invite to complete the FedEx application. Make sure you provide the correct email address in your application, and check your spam if you do not see an email from Contracted Service Providers.

Schedule an Interview

Your recruiter will submit your application to FedEx, prompting the background check and motor vehicle report (MVR).  You will have an interview with a manager at the FedEx terminal. Interviews are Tuesdays-Thursdays at 11am.

DOT Exam and Drug Screen

After the interview, you will be sent paperwork to complete your DOT physical and drug screen. These will be done at the same time at a Concentra location listed on the paperwork. Be sure to go to the correct location. Send your completed DOT and drug screen receipt to your recruiter.  Note: the DOT exam and drug screen is only for L-20 drivers (experienced enough for larger vehicles). Entry level drivers skip this step.

Road Test

Get ready to have your driving skills put to the test! You will schedule a time to go back to the terminal to perform a road test in a FedEx truck. The road test is close to an hour long and will have you demonstrate a variety of skills, including backing and navigating through cones. Be prepared to do your best and prove you're a safe driver.

Schedule Your Orientation

Once everything looks good, you will pick a day to come to the Oakbrook Terrace, IL office for your 1 day orientation. Orientation begins prompty at 8:30am everyday, and last a full work day, so do not make any afternoon or early evening plans. Your recruiter will work with you to pick a date and give you all the information you will need before day 1.
